Card Party - Ocean Views

For Vee's Card Party, I've chosen Ocean Views. These photos were taken and posted last summer.

In July we spent a week on remote Sonora Island visiting Tim's nephew and his wife. Stunning, unspoiled wilderness. Above, the photo shows the labyrinth of islands from a mountain viewpoint.

We have plenty of weather variations here on the west coast of Canada. Clouds hang heavy against the forests, greying the landscape. I thought it interesting that a number of comments on my post Sunday thought that I had created a black and white mosaic. No - they were taken in colour and not altered. Clouds and misty rain dull everything.

On summer evenings in Parksville we frequently wandered down to the French Creek Marina. White boats huddled at their slips, masts rising tall into the fading light.

My parents came for a visit and we strolled through the beautiful Milner Gardens, and took the time to sit on this bench and enjoy the view framed by majestic trees.

Check out all the wonderful card party selections by clicking on the links at Vee's.

Hi Lorrie - wow! Such beautiful views of the ocean and so different from mine! that's just breath-taking - your photos make great note-cards! I think my favorite is the one with all the boats - it screams to be painted!

I got to visit Puget Sound and some of the San Juan islands a couple of summers ago. Beautiful, and remote! It is hard to imagine living that far out year round.

You are living in God's country...such magnificent scenery with the mountains and water, boats and benches. That's interesting about the colors because I wondered if you had muted them myself. It must be the mists that soften the color.

What breathtaking scenes! All are beautiful...although I can't help wanting to sit on that bench to watch the tide roll in.

Beautifully stunning! I can't decide which one is my favorite. I love the first one. But the second one is also very pretty with the fog rolling in. And the other two are just as beautiful but I think I've narrowed it down to the first two being my favorites. :)

Lorrie, These are wonderful photographs! They would be excellent for notecards. My favorite would have to be either the first or the second one.

I'd love to walk into each and every photo, Lorrie, as each location is so beautiful! I really love the second photo of the early morning mist. It is so mysterious looking!

That last photo looks like it says "Tranquility this way". The fog one is really nice too.

Lovely ocean views Lorrie in all the changing conditions. I wondered if your grey photos has been doctored to just show hints of colour but it did cross my mind that them might be untouched. It's amazing what the moisture can do to brilliant colours as the fog rolls in from the sea.

Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous! I would love to sit on that bench in the last one and just dream over the landscape. My favorite, though, was the wonderful one with the rising mist.
