Postcard #7: Back on PEI

Thank you for all the kind words and thoughts and prayers regarding my last post. I'm beginning to feeling better and although we've adjusted some of our plans, we are still having a great time.

Yesterday's postcard didn't publish so I'm trying a new one today. Tim is in meetings for the next few days. After a leisurely morning here at the hotel, the sister of a very dear friend from Ecuador took me to the Anne of Green Gables park.

It was lovely. We wandered through the Haunted Woods and Lover's Lane (there is little scope for imagination while swatting mosquitoes) and of course toured the house. My illusions remain intact.

  1. Oh Lorrie I am SO sorry to hear that you are under the weather. As a BIG Anne fan I am wondering if there are more pictures to come? (She asks hopefully. :)

  4. I imagine that lovers of long ago may have used some peppermint oil when visiting Lovers Lane. So glad that your illusions are still intact and hope that you might flesh out some of these thoughts when you have more time. So glad that you are feeling better! Hope that Tim is as well.

  5. Some of the grandkids are visiting so I missed the last post and had to go back and catch up -- so sorry to find you've both been sick, but glad to hear you're beginning to feel better. Hope that continues and that you're able to enjoy your trip as you planned. I'm certainly enjoying the postcards!

  13. What a fun place to visit! Lover's Lane must have been beautiful right now! We toured the place as a family when our oldest was just finished elementary school. We had a picnic on a knoll - on the grass - red earth and blue sky just like you envision in the book.

  18. I remember visiting the Anne of Green Gables house the summer we were on the island. Most impressive was the vegetable garden planted with what they would have had during the time of the story.
We drove from Ontario and I brought back some red stones that are still in my garden. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
