My granddaughter loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse right now and Curious George adventure books so that would be the themes I'd look for.

I'm always looking for a good book so I wrote down the titles of the ones you listed and I'll see if my library has them. The last book I read was "Devil in the White City" about the 1890 Chicago Worlds Fair and the first recorded series killer. It was very factual and well written and I recently heard it will be made into a movie.

My grandchildren have been keeping me busy lately and also chores around the house as we get ready for autumn to arrive. I could just squeeze them. :-D The skirts and shirt you made are wonderful! We used to read Richard Scarry to our son when he was little. He turned 25 this month -- just don't know where the years went. I love your photo with the roses covered with raindrops. They're such a pretty shade of pink. It looks like you got a good late-summer harvest from your garden!

I love to read mysteries and I'm not familiar with Louise Penney. I'll definitely have to check hers out. I've read Elizabeth George (Inspector Lynley), Ellis Peters, Ruth Rendell, and am re-reading Sue Grafton mysteries. Thanks for sharing these with us. I think I'd love the Four Queens book, too. I love medieval history. I can imagine you were tuckered out by the end of the weekend. Definitely no changing of the seasons here. Been crocheting a lot. And reading some, too. Looking into trying to grow some things from seed once the weather starts to cool off a little. We have a big balcony that I should really utilize more when the weather is nice and I know lots of folks who have success with container gardens. Have a good weekend. I spent some time yesterday cleaning up planters on the deck - pulling out the sweet peas - hate to see them go, but they are done. Potted up some Shasta Daisies that will bloom next year and gave the deck a good washing so it is ready for the rain. We only got about 1/2" last night - and only clouds today. Did you get more than that up there?

My project right now is embroidering more day-of-the-week dishtowels for the hospital gift shop in my home town in Alaska - they are begging for more for the holidays - if only I could stitch faster.

I'm reading "On Island Time" by Hilary Stewart. She lives (lived) on Quadra Island in BC and tells of how she moved there and her house and activities - it is neat to read about somone so near to home. But I have to be careful and not read too much - I have embroidering to do too.JoAnn ( Scene Through My Eyes)https://www.blogger.com/profile/12621061028973446378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38904271.post-3512945574478043162015-08-28T15:35:43.871-07:002015-08-28T15:35:43.871-07:00You've been Busy!
