I envy you your seasons, ours are not so clearly defined as yours, here in Queensland. Looking at your dahlias reminded me of our visit to the Buchart (??) Gardens in 2008. It was late September and the dahlias were beautiful - a delightful place. A few weeks back I took some hydrangea cuttings down to my son's place and had put them in water in a vase.

One of the twin grands told me "Oma there is a bee there" and there was! I have been on ferries to Victoria – from some island around Vancouver I believe, and also a couple of times from Seattle. The last ferry I took was last year from Alameda Island, in the Bay Area to San Francisco – that was very pretty – I mean arriving in SF that way. I also took the ferry between New Orleans and Algiers, but that was a short passage.Vagabondehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10774109692564954568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38904271.post-60215018949088644702016-09-18T09:13:38.470-07:002016-09-18T09:13:38.470-07:00Your ride looks lovely, I would love to live where...Your ride looks lovely, I would love to live where you do. We went to Lopez Island for a few days last weekend - I just love the slow ferry ride - but ours was only 40 minutes each way - I wanted longer - I could ride forever. Your breakfast looks terrific. And do I have an apple bread/cake recipe for you. A friend gave it to me years ago - and it is a huge favorite. It has 4 cups of chopped or shredded apples in it - and a cup of pecans (if you like nuts) - Some people bake it in a 9x13 pan and frost it - I prefer it baked in a bundt pan or two loaf pans and cut like bread. Some put butter on it - my husband likes his in a bowl with a little milk on it - I'm a purist - just cut me a slice and give me a cup of tea and I'm happy.

I see that the weekend rain has already started - it smells so good when it first starts - and we had our lawn mowed yesterday so it smells even better. Enjoy our rainy weekend - I have some crafting planned.
