This week I dyed a few eggs with purple cabbage, cranberry juice, turmeric, and tea. I keep them in the fridge most of the time, but for tomorrow's Easter Dinner they will be part of the table decoration. We're hosting the family. Everyone contributes something, so it's not too much work for anyone. There will be a "treat" hunt, not just chocolates, for the littles in the afternoon. I asked the 15-year-old if she was still interested in an egg hunt and she didn't hesitate to say, "yes!"
I wish you all a most Happy Easter as we celebrate Jesus' Resurrection bringing hope and joy.

Beautiful photos of wonderful signs of spring.
ReplyDeleteHappy and blessed Easter to you and yours, dear Lorrie!
Thank you, and a Happy Easter to you too. One of our daughters is hosting so I can go and enjoy not being in charge.
ReplyDeleteI know you enjoy Iona Wishaw's books and I wonder if you've read her prequel to the Lane Winslow books. It's a rather short book but as usual with Wishaws books it is well written and very enjoyable reading.
Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, dear Lorrie.
ReplyDelete...this is from Viola - I have new pc...
DeleteHappy Easter, Viola!
DeleteThe bushes along you path are indeed beautiful Lorrie. Have a wonderful Easter Day today and may Peace come over our Earth. Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos with a feeling of joy and spring and Easter 💛
ReplyDeleteI love those pretty bunnies 🐥🐤🌷🐣🌿
We have the same system of everybody contributing something at get-togethers 💚
Happy Easter !
Happy Resurrection day to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely glimpse of spring in your corner of the world. I love it. It's all still very brown here with dirty crusts of snow still to melt away. But we have tons of spring birds migrating into town and that is a wonder and a delight. We watched a pair of Canada Goose doing what we assumed was their mating ritual. Such a to-doing with much trumpeting.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful and blessed Easter weekend, Lorrie.
I love your "natural" eggs. What beautiful colors! And like you, mine always end up on the table, too! I hope you have a beautiful Easter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteA joyous Resurrection Sunday to you and your family
ReplyDeleteMay
Lovely to see how your spring is progressing.
ReplyDeleteWhat poignant words Lorrie. You summed up my feelings so well when you wrote 'Beauty is power creating an ache.....' Sometimes beauty, particularly in Nature, is almost too hard to bear, and one feels so tiny in the midst of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Lorrie. Happy Easter to you.
ReplyDeleteI think my 13 year old grandson would still love the egg hunt if I still had my yard. Those special treats have no age limit. What a lovely celebration of Springtime and Easter. One of my speakers for the Portland tea festival this year will be talking about Beatrix Potter and tea. I love your memory of climbing high in the weeping willow. Oh the "acid green" of springtime always touches my heart.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Spring-time post, your photographs are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you enjoyed a blessed Easter.
My good wishes.
All the best Jan
Happy Easter, Lorrie!
ReplyDeleteWe're never too old for a "treat" hunt!
Your plate of naturally dyed eggs is a beautiful sight to behold on that pretty plate. I hope you and your family had a Blessed Easter!
ReplyDeleteSpring is always so welcome after the gray of winter. Each blossom, each glimpse of color, is a feast for the eyes! Blessings of the Resurrection to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you from your beautiful corner. B x
ReplyDeleteYour dish of coloured eggs is so pretty. I must look out for the Michael Morpurgo book on Spring:)
ReplyDeleteOh, those eggs are beautiful paired with the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed a wonderful day on Easter, Lorrie.
