Colour!

The irises that were pretty just being green have suddenly shown their colours. So pretty, with yellow accents. Bright and cheery on a rainy, rainy day. Or it was until about an hour ago and now, I can see blue sky and silvery white clouds! Hooray for sunshine!

And then I noticed these outside. Snowdrops nodding their pretty heads in the garden. Sights like this cheer me up no end on days when it feels like winter will last forever. Mild as winters are here, the grey dull dreariness gets tiresome.

Aid to Haiti is slowly arriving. Our physician friend reported that they were unable to land in Port au Prince when they had hoped because of the limited runway space and priority being given to crews with search dogs. However, they are now in Haiti, relieving medical personnel that must be exhausted after working constantly since the earthquake happened.

  2. Very nice to see color, I'm sure...and the snowdrops outside!

So glad to know that your physician friend is in Haiti. I'm sure that he'll be among the exhausted soon. Will pray for supernatural stamina for him and all the helpers.

  3. Those first glimpses of spring colour are such a treat. We didn't plant any snowdrops, but we have crocuses, soon to come.
The devastation in Haiti is beyond my imagination or understanding. I pray for the rescue volunteers, the nurses and doctors and all who have set their lives aside to go to help.

  4. Snowdrops already, how lovely. My early daffodils are sprouting, but not very enthusiastically!

  5. Good Morning Lorrie...happy Saturday!

Those flowers are so pretty. Yesterday was the first "pretty" day that we've had since before Christmas. Pretty as in nice and warm enough to be outside. It has really been cold here this winter.

Thank you for sharing about Haiti. I have a friends that are missionaries to Haiti. They were in the US when the earthquake hit but are trying to get back over there next week. Their return flights were cancelled. However, news from her is that their church and orphanage were spared alot, thank God.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. I cannot get over your lovely flowers. I have miniature irises sprouting, but I don't think there are any buds yet - I must go and check...

We will be having a special Haiti service in church tomorrow to get updated on all the individual news (we have now heard that the students linked to our friend's church are all alive). We will hear about the arrangements for dontations in the service. Thanks for your news.

Our hearts are for the families from Haiti ,too ! Let`s keep prayers for all the overhelming situation of there .

Often when we face obstacles in our day-to-day life, our hurdles seem very small in comparison to what many others have to face. The Brooklyn Bridge shows us that dreams that seem impossible can be realised with determination and persistence, no matter what the odds are.The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice…it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. And I am certain that our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy.

The LORD is with us !

    -:) Hugs

  8. I've been enjoying the warm, bright and sunny day here in Alberta. But I have to admit, I felt a bit of a chagrin when I saw the photos of plants peeking up in your garden.

Oh my, we're a long way off from that. So it's a pleasure to catch glimpses of what you are enjoying. As for me, I'll go set my face in the warm sunshine and enjoy the chattering birds as they too feel the reprieve from colder days.

    Happy One!

  9. The flowers are so pretty. And thank you for giving us a little direct news of help arriving in Haiti. All our prayers are with the workers there--and those who need help so desperately.
