A Few Days Difference

Our few days in Mexico were not very warm. Grey skies, mist that turned to rain, and chilly winds marked our time there. The ocean was grey as well, but still beautiful in monochromatic tones. These photos are all untouched.

Fortunately, weather systems can move quickly, and now, just 100 miles or so up the coast, we're in California and the sun is shining. It's still chilly, but the weather forecast is for increasing heat. Hooray!

Sea lions at La Jolla Cove nestled together - I love this photo. Tenderness in nature.

Our days are spent walking, reading, walking, eating, and walking, with a lot of relaxation thrown in as well.

Hope your days are filled with good things.

Just a housekeeping note: I'm appalled by all the spam comments that are getting through to being published, so I've disabled anonymous comments for now. I keep watching to see if that clears things up. I know other bloggers have had spam problems lately, too. If you can't comment on the blog, you can always email me through my profile.

  1. I think I may be doing the same shortly...disallowing anonymous comments. Something has changed in the past few weeks...and blogger's spam filter doesn't seem to be working.

Great photos, Lorrie. Are you on your way home?

  2. Beautiful photos! It has been ages since I've been that far south...
Same problem here with some spam comments sneaking past Blogger's filter. Since I moderate all comments, they never make it onto my blogs, but I wonder what changed with the filtering system.
    Have fun!
    Blessings, Aimee

  5. I would take a stay near the sea anytime, even if the skies are grey !!
Though the picture with the blue sky makes me envious. But patience...
I've had a lot of spams too recently, but as I am on moderation they never make it through to the page. But it sure is a pain...
Enjoy your break and the relaxation !

  6. I've seen plenty of spam comments lately. I don't understand who it is that does this and why. But your pictures are beautiful and glad you are having this time of rest. I love the ocean no matter the weather. Sometimes I prefer a gray day!

  8. Beautiful photos Lorrie. I'm sorry Mexico was a wash out for you and that the weather is cool but it sounds like you are enjoying yourselves. I've had anonymous comments turned off for months but recently I was getting a lot of spam comments too. I haven't noticed any the past week though. Very annoying. Safe travels to you. Blessings, Pamela

  9. What are the odds that you would select the time when Mexico would be chilly? Shoot! I gave up my anonymous commenters long ago. It was the only possible decision to make. So glad that you are having warmer days...have loved seeing all these beautiful photos...the seals made me sigh.

  10. Oh you are somewhere warm...sigh, good for you.

I'm looking out my window now, and realized we got more snow...oh well they can add it to the other foot and a half.

    Enjoy your time away.

  14. Welcome back home! Love the little sea lions. That reminds me that I have some from Alaska that I need to publish.

I don't allow anonymous comments. I want to connect with other bloggers, not folks who won't take the time to register or let me know who they are. And I haven't gotten any spam in a couple of years now.

  15. What a gorgeous get-away, even if it wasn't as warm as you would have liked. Your photos are spectacular & I think you should send the one of the mother sea lion & cubs to a greeting card company! PRICELESS!

  16. What a wonderful getaway. Despite the weather, I'm sure you are enjoying your time. I've noticed that the spammers are getting very smart these days and comments are being posted that never were before. I still just don't get what the purpose of their efforts are for. My son says they get paid but I would never ever in a million years click any link from someone I don't know so they aren't getting through to me. Just very, very aggravating. Have a great day. 18. Hi Lorrie,

What a treat to hear from you! Thank you so much for following the bread crumb I left on Vee's post and leaving me such a precious and encouraging comment!! I am loving the place God has me right now, but really am missing my blogging community... especially my special, kindred spirit friends like you. I was happy to see your beautiful photos (those hugging, cuddling seals are just wonderful) from Mexico and hope California is at least warm enough for you to enjoy. I am going to have to catch up and see how your year has gone. Hope that you have really settled in and are loving your new home, that your girls are doing well, and that grandmothering is as wonderful as advertised!!

    Love and blessings,
    Christi
