Do the months seem to be marching by more quickly than ever? Here it is October already - and time for Vee's Note Card Party.
Monday, Canadian Thanksgiving Day, followed two days of turkey dinner and getting together with family. It was all wonderful. Our plan to put the Little Misses to bed before eating dinner went off without a hitch. We laughed ourselves silly around the table and lingered long in the living room, slouching on couches, stretching out on the floor, talking, talking, talking.
Reflections of grasses in the water are barely disturbed by placid ducks. Such a glorious afternoon.
This photo was taken three years ago, in Port Alberni, with my old camera. I've always loved the weathered blue bench that contrasts with the carpet of yellow and brown leaves.
Please join the party. Visit Vee's blog to see more collections of photos that we think would make great note cards.
Great photos as usual. They certainly would make lovely note cards.
ReplyDeleteI love the rustic bench with the fallen leaves too!
ReplyDeleteBut those duck photos are gorgeous too!
Fabulous photos, Lorrie. and belated Happy Thanksgiving. xo
ReplyDeleteI love that weathered blue bench, too. It just makes you pause to look at it and think. Love these all for beautiful note cards! Oh, and I like your choice of frames!
ReplyDeleteI really like all your choices, Lorrie! The reflections in the water scene is stunning.
ReplyDeleteThese are truly splendid photos.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful assortment...just like we used to get in the box. Love those ducks !
ReplyDeleteThese are delightful. What a gorgeous tree and I especially like the last one the bench with the leaves so casually resting upon it
ReplyDeleteThose ducks are absolutely amazing! (The photographer is, too, I suspect.) What a nice set. That's the color red we long to see here...mostly yellows and oranges in our valley. The blue bench with the browned leaves is a very artsy photograph... Glad to know that the girls stayed sleeping while the adults enjoyed their meals and conversations.
ReplyDeleteSneaked back in to look again...they're not brown leaves, they're golden. Definitely.
Deletelovely series. I love ducks -- so much fun. The bench is spectacular with all the fallen leaves. beautiful fall colors. happy to hear you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteAll your photos are so pretty, but I think I like the first one with all the ducks best!

Beautiful photos for notecards, Lorrie. I like the reflections of the grasses in the water and the blue bench surrounded by gold leaves. It's such a beautiful time of year.
ReplyDeleteFabulous - what a lovely day and photos.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Lorrie! Particularly I love the red tree and the bench.
ReplyDeleteDeanna
Oh Lorrie
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful cards - the second one of the tree clothed in Autumn colour is spectacular - is it a maple?
The ducks are wonderful photo opportunities - they don't fly away as they're always hope ful you'll give them a few crumbs.
It's wonderful having your thanksgiving celebration - here we really only all get together for Christmas.
I think we should have another one mid year - it sounds like it was such a lovely family dinner.
Hugs
Shane
Autumn...captured beautifully in your notecards!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Lorrie, these are WONDERFUL! The ducks are adorable, and the leaves are just spectacular. I like the contrast of blue and yellow, too. You did a great job with these pictures, and I'd be happy to receive any of these as a card!

ReplyDeleteLorrie, Your photos are gorgeous. This is my fav time of year. Sounds like you had a lovely Thanksgiving with family.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful set of cards...and yes that blue bench resonates within my heart too.
ReplyDeleteJen
Your duck pictures are fabulous. We always enjoy how the water looks like glass in the morning and evening hours.
ReplyDeleteThe autumn leaves are glorious!
OK, I thought the ducks were my favorite until I got to the one with the bench and the leaves. I just love that so much. We don't get nearly as many scenes like that here because we don't get nearly as many leaves. I could practically hear the crunch in that picture.
ReplyDeleteLove the ducks and the season! Glad you shared your view and wish I could trudge around admiring your world with our cameras at the ready!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to sit on that blue bench, rustle the leaves with my feet, and take in a pretty view. These photos would make pretty note cards, Lorrie.

Lorrie,
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning, seasonal splendour! I love ducks, and these are adorable; they look so calm, simply floating the day away. Your last photo speaks to my senses; I can smell the fallen foliage - were they dewy? Thanks for sharing!
Poppy
