Blogging Investigations and a Birthday Party

this photo has nothing to do with the text below, but I like it
Last week I did a little research into why word verification (WV) was showing up on my blog (and many others) when the settings said it was not.
Apparently Blogger has installed WV to prevent spam. There's no way around it if you have a pop up comment box.

However, I noticed that those with embedded comments did not have WV. So I switched the settings and voilà!, WV disappeared.

I also discovered that if you are a registered user, that is, you are commenting using your Google account, you don`t have to enter the WV code, just hit Publish, as per usual, and the comment should post.

A sweet little Miss is turning 4 and celebrated with a dance party. Music, costumes, a wonderful instructor, and little people dancing with abandon. It was marvelous, full of exuberant joy.

Joining with Mosaic Monday, hosted by Judith of Lavender Cottage.

  1. Hmmmm. I better check out whether or not I have word verification on my blog. I thought not!
Love that sweet little miss...dancing with abandon.

  2. Wonderful mosaic, Lorrie such fun! Thank you for researching the wv issue, I followed your lead and voila problem solved.
Hope your week ahead is amazing! Thanks.

  3. Happy birthday to your daughter. She looks enchanting in her Tutu! Thank you for always leaving such kind comments on my blog. I wanted to let you know that I appreciate them very much.

    Wishing you a happy week!

  4. Beautiful little one and it is really nice to be able to just comment and skip that silly WV stuff. Happy week~

  5. Yes, I changed to the embedded comments to make it easier.. Happy Birthday to your sweet little Miss. She is a cutie..Have a happy week ahead!

  6. What a fun party and a fabulous idea for a birthday celebration. Love her skirt which is perfect for twirling too. P.S. Very impressed with your technical investigations and solution.

  7. What a fun party!

Thank you for your investigation into this issue! I'll see about changing to the embedded option, too.

  8. I just fixed my blog too by changing to an imbedded comment, with hosting a party the word verification could be a problem.
The dance party looks like fun!
    Thanks for linking toMosaic Monday.

  9. Now that's a party to really enjoy - oh to be a little girls again!!!!

Yes, I noticed what you discovered re: WV and, as I'd already been using the other way of leaving comments, people weren't having a problem on mine. I wonder why Blogger has a spam problem just on one type of commenting. Who knows, the whole techie world is a mystery to us all, well except our grandchildren who don't seem confused, and who also aren't too helpful when their old grannies and grandpas beg for assistance methinks! Missing dear H (Pondside) and hope her move went well. Please give her my love if you see her over the holidays. . . .just left her a comment also.
    Hugs - Mary

  10. Now I have to look up what embedded comments mean. It looks like a wonderful party and your photos capture the joy!

  11. Oh,,,these pictures are great!! So full of energy and joy! Little girls and tutoos,,,who doesn't dream of being a ballerina!

  12. What fun she's having! Dancing and parties and little girls just go together.

  13. What a beautiful little danser. Gorgeous

  14. What a sweet little mis indeed....

  15. The mosaic makes me want to dance! Love it. One thing I've noticed on a few blogger blogs is that they aren't letting me comment with my Wordpress Account. They say I don't own that identity. I'll going to try here now and see what happens. I always have my google default but my google is connected to MGCC blog...
So if you see my comment as happywonderer your blog is letting me comment with my own identity.
    Have a good week!
Nope...I gotta comment with google. So weird...

  16. My comment box is embedded, so I didn't realize that Google had changed things re word verification adn spam. Good to know.

What a great party idea -- a dance party -- and that little Miss certainly knows her moves! Lovely collection of pics.

  17. Well, you did better research than me. I did discover that you don't have to fill in the word verification and I am going to check into the embedded.

  18. Lots of fun to watch, I bet! xx

  19. A joyous little redheaded dancing fool? Hooray! We redheads need to stick together.

And thanks for the WV headsup. I actually activated mine on purpose as there were some more problematic things than spam going on but perhaps I was just being paranoid!

  20. Interesting about the WV - I'll have to check it out. I put in on because I had so much spam...
quite annoying. I planned on taking it off after a time. I will check it out.
Cute lamb you have there! I can't believe she is four already! I had a boy angel and a baby Jesus in a little movie our church does.
    So fun!

  21. A dancing party - what could be more fun?

Thank you for your comment. I read and value each one, cherishing the connections we can make although far apart. Usually, I visit your blog in return, although if you ask a question I try to contact you directly.
