Postcard #6: Into Every Vacation a Little Rain Must Fall

And so it has. Cold mist blows off the water, whipped by the wind to drive to the bone. A good day for wandering I'm and out of shops in scenic Lunenburg. The city really is charming in spite of the crooked photo.

Tim developed a cold the first day of our trip and I've been assiduous about washing, not sharing food, etc., but spending 24 hours each day together means the germs are always nearby.

Today I succumbed. Scratchy throat. Achy limbs. Not much energy. After a stroll through town, a warming lunch of carrot ginger soup, and a little drive, we gave in and are sipping tea and relaxing in our cozy suite in the heritage house shown above.

  1. Such a shame you both have a cold now Lorrie, wishing you better health soon to continue enjoying your trip. The house you're staying in looks nice, I like the colour.

  2. I'm sorry the weather and the 'flu cold' has gotten to you both. That's not fun at all. Isn't Lunenburg beautiful? Did you get to see the Bluenose? I hope you are both on the mend soon so you can enjoy the rest of your trip.

  4. Oh I suppose that slowing down on cold, rainy days can be approached with a certain enthusiasm, but not with that cold! These are the scenes that remind me of a book I once tried to read. Feel better soon, you two.

  14. Be well soon Lorrie - hopefully some sunshine will appear and that always helps.
We fly to the UK tomorrow and I'm hoping we don't catch any international 'bugs' on this trip - those darned planes always seem rife with germs, ugh!
Chin up and keep going - hugs, Mary

  17. Sorry you both don't feel well, but it's nice you are able to both rest, and not feel like the other person is missing out on vacation because you are sick!

It looks like a beautiful place to visit! Very charming.
