It's lovely to go away on a short trip, and it's equally lovely to return home again. On this rainy and quiet Sunday afternoon, I'll share a few more thoughts from our recent getaway.
Late one afternoon we walked along Nanaimo's waterfront. How beautiful to see the daffodils blooming en masse, and more prunus trees. The one above leans over the water as if in conversation with the gently lapping waves.

More delightful succulents in rosy and pale green shades. They would make such pretty little brooches to pin to a jacket or a hat, don't you think? Of course, we left them where they grow, for others to enjoy.
Spring break is over and tomorrow it's back to school for me and work for Tim. Although the temperatures are still chilly, there's a definite feel of spring in the air, and sights of it in the garden and around town. Is spring showing up in your corner yet?
Spring is a wonderful time! I long for the Finnish spring so much, no sprouts yet to be seen. Wishing you lovely week Lorrie.

Yes, I went walking today and it was a bit chilly; but it felt like springtime to me. New life was bursting out everywhere. What a gorgeous blossoming tree in your first picture. Love, love the succulents too. And what a lovely treat with your tea time. Yummm!

I've been knitting a lot and now I've gotten into sewing, starting with bags, then hats and now I'm sewing simple summer clothes... today I'm cutting a pair of pants :-)) I'm still looking for patterns!!

ReplyDeleteThat's what I call a great camping trip -- good food within walking distance, beautiful flowers, nice weather. Really good that Tim took a Spring break also~ . And the idea of a miniature treasure hunt is wonderful -- I took a lot of macro photos for a while but have somehow sort of forgotten about doing so. Slowing down to really look at the small things in life is a form of meditation.

ReplyDeleteLorrie - those succulents are almost too perfect to be real! They remind me of the (high-quality) fake ones in Starbucks. On Monday, I pinched one just to check, it looked so realistic! Of course, the spring blossoms, especially over the lake, are glorious! Our weather/greening is quite a ways behind yours - the sun is out, but the temps are cool. All in time ...
