A Walk in the Bog

One of my favourite places to walk is the bog. I took my camera along and noticed all the signs that autumn is close. Come with me....

Tall dry grass against an impossibly blue sky.

Long afternoon shadows reach across the pathway.

Red berries - I'm thinking these would look great piled into a bowl on the table - not for eating, just for looking. I'll have to find some that aren't in a park.

In many places the path is shaded by a tangle of willows and blackberry bushes grown tall. I love these "tunnels" - and the emerging light at the end. So romantic. As I walk I hear the rustle of leaves, the flutter of birds in the branches and some noises in the grass that make me walk a little more quickly.

  2. What a treat the blue sky. We have not seen it for a while.
I picked some Blackberries in my local park on Sunday.
Daughter's knee throw is nice. Have never thought of a knee throw.
Looks like Autumn colours are coming out your way. Ours not yet.

I loved what you said about noises in the grass that make you walk a little faster. LOL...I do the same thing. It is 1/2 mile walk on a little dirt road to my mailbox. There is one section that goes thru the woods and I always feel a bit spooked when I walk there even when the dog is with me. I have no idea what I think is going to come running out. :) Hi Lorrie, So nice that you dropped by. Hope you'll come again.

Thank you for your comment. I read and value each one, cherishing the connections we can make although far apart. Usually, I visit your blog in return, although if you ask a question I try to contact you directly.

Traditions Old and New

Oh the rain. It drums down on the skylight. There are great puddles on the streets and sheets of water spray when cars drive through them....
