From Grandpa's Shirts

Two shirts with worn out cuffs. Two little Misses. Two sweet dresses.

I've been puttering away at these for a couple of weeks. Wouldn't it be sweet if both little girls wore them on Father's Day and we took a photo with Grandpa and his altered shirts worn by his two little sweethearts?

There are tutorials in several places for dresses made from old shirts. I didn't follow any of them, but took inspiration from them and finished them in my own way. Such fun!

  3. Lorrie, that is the best idea ever! I don't think I'll ever look at my husband's dress shirts again without thinking of this shot. Hope you get a great picture with all three!

  7. Oh dear Lorrie I have a few posts to catch up on. The shirts are adorable and I hope you get your photo. I have a local blog friend who quilted seat covers out of her husband's old shirts (all in blues).

I love your barn runner with the sweet bouquets lined up! Delightful! And Green Dolphin St? We used that for a book club. It was a great book. I will have to look up the one you just read.

And I love your barn images ... and I may have forgotten comments for some of your other posts I missed ...

  8. They are adorable!!. I have seen things made from old shirts before but not this cute. Definitely take a pic of your grands in them with their granddad.
I have not sewn in years - loaned my machine to daughter years and have not seen it since. :-D Which is OK as I don't have a need for it now.
Thanks for stopping by. The morning I took those pics the sky and water was so blue and the sun reflecting off the lens gave a blue cast to the whole picture.
Hope you are having a great week.

Traditions Old and New

Oh the rain. It drums down on the skylight. There are great puddles on the streets and sheets of water spray when cars drive through them....
