Sun, Sky and Sea

As I walked down the beach with Little Miss A this week, the wind at our backs pushed us along with great gusts of enthusiasm. I could only think of the return trip, against the wind. And as it turned out, I ended up carrying the Little Miss, who is not so little any more, much of the way back.

But the day, with clouds scudding, waves rushing, accompanied by glorious sunshine was too beautiful to miss.

I hope the sun is shining for you today.

Linking to Sunlit Sunday, the last of this season, hosted by Karen of My Little Home and Garden.

  1. Those windy days are among some of the best days for the beach!

  2. That is a beautiful snapshot of the beach and even though it was cold it would be easy to imagine it was really lovely i the sunshine. I imagine you and the little miss had a nice walk together. Blessings, Pamela

  4. Hello, Lorrie

I love your reference to the "great gusts of enthusiasm". While walking by the lake a few weeks ago, a friend and I encountered some rather enthusiastic headwinds. Luckily, the wind was at our back when we were as tired as your Little Miss!

The photo is wonderful, with all of the blues and light purple in the distance. I always enjoy your photos of the BC coastline and am glad you brought this one to "Sunlit Sunday". Thank you.

  5. We certainly experienced the same thing last week at the beach and commented about it. There was more wind than usual and one direction was so easy, but the other ....

  7. Your photo of the ocean has me smelling salt water. And your description of your walk has me wanting to go on my own salt water walk.

  8. Thank you for taking us on your walk, I could feel the wind blowing and can imagine how you felt carrying a not so little one back! No sun here today just another white day with more of the stuff falling once again. Take care. Chel x

I miss walking on the beach. Your picture just reminded me that I need to plan a trip.

Unfortunately the sun isn't shining here today....rain and cold. We're waiting on Spring!

  14. What a great picture...so many little rocks! I guess you can't go barefoot on that one but I imagine it was wonderful to hear the waves and see the sun.

  15. We have had very windy days on the beach as well. It's great when the wind is at your back...not so great when you are walking back into it though.

  16. I love that photo - it reminds me of some of the island beaches I stepped onto in South Georgia and South Shetland Islands - minus penguins of course! I love that you took Little Miss A to enjoy the wind and sunshine but know how it is when you have to pick them up and carry them home - watch your back, it's easy to injure ourselves at this time of life (well I'm older but you still need to be careful too Lorrie!)
