Beautiful Day

These are a few candid shots that I took at the wedding. This first one is of the Bride at her brother and sister-in-law's home, where we dressed for the wedding.

Here is the Bride and her sister the Matron of Honour in the car to drive to the church.

On the steps of the church sanctuary with her bridal party. Her attendants were all in ivory silk dupioni dresses with different coloured sashes. The Bride sewed the dresses with just a little help with the handsewn finishing. I'm very pleased with the beading on the veil - it added just enough sparkle and complemented the sparkle in the wedding gown.

The head table. All the flowers were so beautiful. And today my house has bouquets in every room!

Thank you to all you wonderful readers who thought of us yesterday. Blogging creates a sense of community that sometimes surprises me.

I didn't take many photos because my daughter-in-law told me that she would be sure to record all the special details that went into the wedding. I'm sure I'll be posting more wedding photos until you are all sick of them.

It was a beautiful, beautiful day. My heart is full of moments that I will mull over and treasure for a lifetime.

I was so happy that the good weather held yesterday, and as we drove up to the airport at 11, and past the reception venue, I thought of you.
Your daughter's ensemble is gorgeous - her love of things Russian shows through!

I will look forward to having a good visit when you come for convocation here. My daughter worked at AU through her summers while attending the UofA and she loved volunteering for AU's convocation. she said it was so wonderful to meet the students from all over Canada and some from distant countries as well. It's a very special weekend and it will be something to look forward to. good luck with your courses!

  19. I've been scrolling through these posts about the wedding and just loving it all! My daughter gets married next June. (my oldest and first to get married) You and your daughter just did a FANTASTIC job. It's unique and beautiful! I love her bridesmaids dresses and she sewed them...I sewed mine too so many years ago but that just doesn't happen too often any more.

Traditions Old and New

Oh the rain. It drums down on the skylight. There are great puddles on the streets and sheets of water spray when cars drive through them....
