Do You Ever Note?

Pinterest is great for lots of visual inspiration and information. But it's very public. I don't always want everyone to know what I'm interested in. For example, if I'm planning a party for someone who is following me on Pinterest, I might not want to pin my ideas. Or, I may just want to keep some things private.

There's always the option to bookmark sites, but I find that cumbersome. My son-in-law and daughter introduced Ever Note to me this summer. It's been around for awhile and I don't know why it hasn't gotten more press time. Probably because it's private, not social.

If I read a post on a blog, or an article somewhere on the web, or find a recipe I'd like to try, I clip it just the same as with Pinterest. The source is automatically recorded on the clip. Ever Note downloads the information to my computer so that I can retrieve it at any time, whether I'm on line or not. I like that. I can organize the information and photos into folders that make it easy to find the information.

There's a free version which I'm perfectly happy with, and an upgraded one for a price.

Have you heard of Ever Note? Do you use it?

  1. I have never heard of this. Thank you for sharing. I'm not on pinterest for the same reason. Luckily for me only like 3 people read my blog. Ha! :) Ever Note sounds perfect for me.

  2. I have Evernote on my iPhone and do not use all it's capabilities and it has many. I am ready to let summer go and get out the sweater for fall. It has been so very hot and dry here this season and the earth and trees have struggled to keep a semblance of green in it's attire.

  4. I don't use Ever Note, but I use Microsoft Office's OneNote application. Sounds very similar. I started using it about 3 years ago and just love it. You can copy and paste anything into at and it also places a link to where it came from. Love that capability to work offline. I have actually pulled out of Pinterest about 4 months ago . . . part of my simplifying.

  10. I never heard of it.... will be checking it out though. I totally relate about Pinterest. Sometimes I just "like" something instead of pinning it...less likely to be noticed! ha!

  12. It sounds good.
Does this increase your time on the computer or decrease it?

  14. I've been thinking about getting a phone for "just in case" occasions. I find the options overwhelming.

  15. I have never heard of it...and I'm taking note! I often end myself e-mails...rather than pinning something...just so I can file it privately. Thanks for the tip.

  16. I have never heard of it and although it sounds interesting don't think I will dabble with yet another internet project just now. Facebook taking up too much time already.
