Mosaic Monday

Do you prefers fruits or vegetables? For me, it's always been the vegetables. Even when we lived on the equator where pineapples, papayas, mangoes and bananas were plentiful I still preferred carrots and broccoli, onions and tomatoes.

Since I started blogging I also started taking pictures of food. It's an art I hope to improve upon and more difficult than I had thought. The angles, the lighting, the temperature of the food - everything matters. I've learned that if something is piping hot the steam ruins the photo.

So on this Mosaic Monday, hosted by Mary at the Little Red House, I've chosen to feature some of the things I'm looking forward to this summer - freshly picked vegetables, either from my garden or farmer's markets. Yum!

  3. I like more veg raw than cooked. When we sit down to a meal my family sometimes ask 'where's YOUR veg, Mum?' I'd eaten mine in the kitchen whilst preparing and cooking theirs! xx

  8. You're doing pretty good so far on the food photography! Its tough..I'm learning too. Lighting is so important and so hard to get.

And I like my fruits and veggies equally and sometimes at the same time!

  11. I'm a fruit gal, but you make veggies look very appetizing. Great photo! I have learned that a little butter spread over something warm looks heavenly. :D

  14. Hi Lorrie,
Yes, Paris is tres magnifique! It is the most gorgeous city I have ever been to! Your food photos look amazing! I did an earlier posting on a bruchetta recipe, and when I took the pictures, they all just looked "blaaa"! I love summer veggies, too, and just made a big batch of tzatziki the other day. yummy!

Traditions Old and New

Oh the rain. It drums down on the skylight. There are great puddles on the streets and sheets of water spray when cars drive through them....
