A Look Back

Looking back over the creations that came from my sewing/craft studio this past year provides a way for me to see into the future by answering questions like - what did I enjoy most? how would I like to improve? what can I leave behind?

Many things this year have crowded out time for being creative. And this year will be similar. But by the end of 2011 I'll have finished my degree (Lord willing) and will think about what's next. Actually, I'm already thinking about it and it scares me sometimes.

But when I wish that I had more time for making gifts, sewing clothes, and just creating for the sake of my soul, I remember that there are seasons in life and that "there will be time." I was inspired by Rebecca Sower to make this mosaic. Her thoughts on creativity are worth exploring.

  1. What a wonderful tribute to the projects you accomplished in 2010. The new year is a clean slate and ready for the painter to create the picture. Have fun and enjoy it. Take care and have a great week.

  2. So many wonderful things came through your creativity. I smiled seeing "the inchies" as I was inspired to try them (never did). Perhaps this is my year to find the time. I'm going to follow your link.

  4. what a nice way to journal all of your creativeness! Your handiwork makes me wonder if I'll ever get to any of the crafty projects I want to do. I'll be stopping back for some inspiration!

  7. Hi Lorrie,

Thanks for dropping by my blog. It is always a treat to find fellow Canadians, especially people like you living in God's country. We love Vancouver Island and are scheming to find a way to live there eventually.

I love all the beautiful things you create. I wish I knew how to sew. My friend M. is going to teach me how to knit when I visit her in Victoria in 5 weeks.

    Take care, xo Terri

I hope to be able to devote more time to being creative this year also, I really missed by scrapbooking afternoons last year.

  12. Lovely work! I plan to be more creative this year. About the only thing I accomplished last year was preparing for our daughter's wedding.... made corsages and decorative items for the reception. I have some things in mind...we'll see how it goes!

  13. I totally hear you - I haven't been able to be nearly as creative as I used to be but that is okay. I've tried to find new ways!
