October Daily 24:

As I approached this Golden Maple tree today, the wind suddenly lifted the carpet of leaves from beneath the tree in a great gust that brought them all rushing and tumbling straight towards me in an autumn greeting. "Hello, hello," they said, "we're so glad to see you."

I'll leave you with more photos from my walk, and words from others today.

Remember what Bilbo used to say: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.
J. R. R. Tolkien

If winter is slumber and spring is birth, and summer is life, then autumn rounds out to be reflection. It's a time of year when the leaves are down and the harvest is in and the perennials are gone. Mother Earth just closed up the drapes on another year and it's time to reflect on what' come before.
Mitchell Burgess

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.
John Muir

Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful,
for beauty is God's handwriting.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

  1. We have Japanese Marple trees in the garden and the leaves are all of a red colour now. I love Autumn’s walk even if the weather is windy or rainy. The best walks I did was in Scotland with very nice sceneries.

  4. So beautiful, in words and pictures. The golden maple is gorgeous, and I like the dark red fruits, although I do not know what they are!

  13. Wasn't that a lovely gift from the maple to you! I love all your quotations with the pictures, well paired! I've written down the Burgess one but happened to wonder how many women of my age automatically thought, "It's curtains, Mitchell, not drapes!"
