September Celebration

After the grey days of late it was a delight to see cheerful sunlight on Sunday. Brunch was on the calendar - Sausage Egg Casserole with a Mexican flavor, Scalloped Tomatoes, Chocolate Bread, Fruit Platter, and a Strawberry Mousse Cake for dessert. Everyone contributed so the preparation was easy on all of us.

I don't know what we talked about before the little misses entered our lives. Things are much livelier now with one non-stop chatter and activity. So much fun. We are blessed.

Three September birthdays were celebrated with singing led by Little Miss A, cake and candles.

September's golden days are here. Time to embrace the season. How are you feeling about September so far?

  2. Some pretty special people in my family have birthdays this month as well . . . my brother, my daughter and my 2nd granddaughter. Loved sharing your celebration and seeing your little misses again. Miss S looks like she is developing a glorious mane of hair and Miss A's curls are delightful.

  4. Gosh those little grandgirlies are growing fast. I'm noticing that "the baby's" hair is lightening quite a bit. They are both so cute! Fun to gather together for breakfast to celebrate birthdays or for any reason!

  7. Celebrations in Sept - love them all. We had a big birthday party for Don and our grandson Jahn (whose birthday is actually today) - in the park last weekend. Our anniversary is at the end of the month (49 years) - so I love September. Our weather continues to be so very pleasant, with another 10 days of nice forecast - I love September.

Love you table setting too - very festive.

  8. Today was the sort of September day I'd welcome every year! I don't mind the cool and misty mornings at all, and I love the warm and sunny afternoons. The begonias seem to be having a second wind!

  13. September is a great time to have a Bday..sounds like having 3 is even more fun.

I'm trying to find the email of the blogger that sent me a link for the color palette generator...was that you by any chance?

And my blog is kind of lost in space right now, there are more then a few redirection issues...just thought I would get the word out.

September is one of my favorite months because we usually have sunny, warm days with cool nights. I also love the leaf changes that are going on right now!

  17. So bright and cheery--the table, the cake and the family gathered, not to mention your sweet little one! Is your table runner from Ecuador?

  18. Sooooooooo fun! And, yes, soooo cheery! I don't know what we did before our granddaughter! Life was certainly different! And now we are expecting a boy in February (my son's first child)!!!

  19. Your mention of scalloped tomatoes really got me going researching recipes for that dish. It reminds me of the Joy of Cooking Tomato Pudding I used to make. Now that I have an overabundance of fresh tomatoes it's time to start up again!

Traditions Old and New

Oh the rain. It drums down on the skylight. There are great puddles on the streets and sheets of water spray when cars drive through them....
